Biography

Stephen K. Withers, Jr., is a partner with the firrn, whose practice covers a wide-range of legal fields, and focuses primarily in Estate Planning and Administration, Probate Law, Real Estate, and Small Business and Non-Profit Organizations.

Attorney Withers is actively involved in serving the Greater Attleboro Area as the former chairman of the Attleboro School Committee (2014-2023), a member of the Rotary Club of Attleboro, Massachusetts (President, 2011-2012), a Director of the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum, a Director of the United Way of Greater Attleboro/Taunton, and a Director of Attleboro Enterprises, Inc. He is a member of the Attleboro Area, Bristol County, and Massachusetts Bar Associations.

In addition, he has served as a lecturer and author for the National Business Institute, the Young Professionals Organization and other local organizations on numerous topics, including the Probate Process, Estate Planning, the Use of Trusts, and Business Succession Planning.

Attorney Withers graduated, cum laude, with a B.A. in History from the College of the Holy Cross in 2002, and received his J.D. from Northeastern School of Law in 2005. Prior to joining Coogan Smith, he served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Raymond J. Brassard in the Massachusetts Superior Court, as a Legal Intern with Governor Mitt Romney's Office of Legal Counsel, and as a Legal Intern with two medium-size Boston law firms.
